It all started with my brother coming home with Lightning McQueen. JJ then saw the movie and that was it! Of course, Jesse likes them too ;-) They are both playing in JJ's room right now. JJ has so much fun when he plays Cars with his Papa. He loves his Cars. :-)

Homesick

The last time I visited Peru was in January of 2009. My Mom, my Dad my sisters, nephews and now my brother live there. I miss them. It's hard not to have your direct family around. To just know that you can take a drive and see them whenever you want. But now, it's even harder for me because of JJ. I wish he could interact with them, spend time with his Abuelito and play with his cousins. Skype helps, but it's just not the same. The Lord has blessed me with beautiful friends and family here and I appreciate them very much. Hopefully I'll be able to travel soon with JJ and spend some quality time with them. For now, Facebook and Skype will have to do.

Yesterday was my friend's baby shower. Everything came out beautiful! and everyone had a great time. She was blessed with so many things for her and baby. It was good to spend time with her and her closest friends and family.

JJ and I have been spending lots of time coloring, tracing, cutting & pasting.
He says he's "playing school" :-)

The weather is so nice today. JJ usually goes outside with his Dad to play with sidewalk chalk. But today I went out with with him. We had a really nice time. He is becoming more and more like his Dad. Loves to sing and dance and also to make faces. Happy, Sad and hungry (angry):-) are his favorite ones. I'll post those soon.

I painted the doorway! small task, but it was in my to-do list and it has now been crossed out.
Just finished helping my friend with her baby shower favors. The best part was sitting down across from each other and catching up while doing crafty stuff.

I'm nervous, and excited and nervous again about some decisions that I'll have to make in the next couple of days. I don't like change, but I know that sometimes change is good and necessary. God is so good and always comes through at the perfect time and always has the perfect plan. He knows exactly what we need and always provides. He is amazing...

Puerto Rico was amazing, the resort was beautiful, the food was awesome and the people were so nice. Primerica really did a great job taking care of every single detail and made this trip really memorable. We are so grateful to be part of this great company.
Lots to do around here, I have so many projects that I want to complete. Mostly around the house like painting and some gardening. Potty training will start next week. A friend of mine recommended the three day training, so I plan on not doing much on those days.

I used to keep a diary when I was in high school and I loved it. I wish I knew where it was now...well, maybe not. ;-)
I was about to close this blog when I went back to the very first post and smiled reading the posts and looking at the pictures of our boy and our family. I realized how important it is to keep track of the little things that happen in the everyday life and routine of our little family. It is important to remember the details of things that JJ said or did or that Jesse and I did together.
So this will now be my diary except there is no little gold key to keep it from my sister and my Mom. :-)
I probably won't post everyday but I want to do it at least once a week.

We are getting ready for our Primerica trip to Puerto Rico. Jesse worked really hard last year to win it for us. We are excited to be going away for a couple of days. I love to pack and I usually overpack but I want to try not to on this trip since there is so much to take for JJ (toys, books, clothes, shoes). I want to be done by Monday, let's see if I can.
We got our luggage tags this week...:-)

since I've post anything here. Little JJ will be 2 years old next month. We are still not sure how we will celebrate or where...
Not a lot time to scrap either, my days are completely full with some work from home, housework and my little man. It was very hot today, so I decided to set up the pool for JJ and was able to snap some nice pics..

I'm having so much fun with him now that he is a little bigger, I have been blessed with a sweet happy boy!

Things are getting back to normal in our little house. Both boys are finally getting over their colds. I never got sick thank God!
I need to start using more recent pics of JJ. But I just love these so much, he was starting to fully smile at 4 months and his smiles were so precious. They still are, but these were his first ones...I miss that baby...

At the Lake

I decided to take JJ to the lake today to take pictures. The lake is inside our community but it is a bit of a walk so I decided to drive. Then I though, I don't need the stroller; JJ loves to walk!
Well, little JJ wanted to walk, but in his own direction. It was me holding JJ, the camera bag, a sippy cup, a blanket and my keys. JJ wanted to walk in the direction of the ducks and the water! I think he wanted to go swimming with them :-)!
Anyways, I ended up taking close to 45 pictures to get this shot.

We had an awesome weekend, first the Zoo and then a quick visit to Everglades National Park. We plan on going back there in the winter and maybe go camping! ;-)

We were out ALL day Saturday, and JJ was so good! We had a blast!

my little boy loves to take walks, when he wants to go outside he grabs my hand and pulls me to the door. And he won't stop knocking on the door until we go out!
he is trying to negotiate his meals! he eats with a toy on the tray, once he's done playing with it, he won't take another spoon until I give him another toy. (I hope this doesn't last long...)
he is learning to go to sleep on his own, mostly for the afternoon nap. I just put him in his bed, close the blinds and he falls sleep playing with his bear blanket.

Today we went to the park, it had been raining all day but thankfully it stopped early enough for us to go and have some fun! JJ loved it!

Well, so just as we thought Jungle Island for 4th of July was awesome! Great food, entertainment and Fireworks. We had fun!
I was so happy that we got to spend time with my brother.

Our little family had a very busy weekend! On Friday night we were invited to a play by our friend Sharel. It was "The Lion King". Sharel and Katie did an awesome job as well as all the kids that performed. Little JJ loved the music! Sharel's make-up? not so much... :-)

On Saturday we attended a beautiful wedding, really beautiful ceremony. Jesse Joel behaved so good.
On Sunday! we went to my dear friend Marita's house, for little Thomas's Cowboy themed birthday party. What a party! Pony rides, petting zoo, train rides, ice cream, cotton candy, chocolate fountains! We BOTH had soooo much fun! Actually, Jesse Joel had a fun-overload!:-)

Memorial Day Fun!

We spent Memorial Day with friends and family. Our church got together for a baptism and barbecue at the beach. The day started with a few clouds but thank God by mid-day the clouds went away and the sun came out. Jesse Joel spent time splashing around with his cousin Seth. It was a great day!

The three of us visited a Toy Store this past Saturday. It was little JJ's first time. As I walk the hallways of the store, I wondered how much time I will be spending there as my little boy grows and asks me to take him there. For now, he didn't seem too impressed...

We are finally back home, done with vacations for now...
Baby JJ had a great time and I really enjoyed seeing my family. I had great conversations with my Dad while enjoying delicious Peruvian dishes. My sister and nephews really love JJ and spent lots of time together.
The plane ride was great and I was able to rest and enjoy the slow-paced life of Lima.
Being away from home really got my creative juices flowing. I've come back more energized than ever to handle all of our little house projects. Little JJ and I have a lot to do!

My little boy got sick with a cold last Saturday. Poor thing he can't breathe so is difficult for him to nurse. Thankfully he hasn't had any fever. I hope he gets better in time for our Disneyworld trip. I hope he gets better period!

Our Thanksgiving adventure began in Palm Coast with a wonderful dinner at Aunt Linda's house with all our cousins. Afterwards we went to Jacksonville to stay with Jesse's Dad. Day two brought about lots and lots of sightseeing all throughout Middleburg, St. Augustine and Downtown Jacksonville.

On day three, we went to Gainesville to check out the "Home of the GATORS" University of Fla. has a beautiful campus.

We had a wonderful time. And little J.J. was so good. He slept through the night and was so happy everywhere we went. We are really looking forward to our next trip: Disneyworld!

I can't believe it has been six months since I came home with my little boy. Six months ago a become a Mommy. I pray for blessings over my sweet Jesse Joel, may he be healthy and happy, and may he come to know his creator and love Him with all his heart.

The Hippo Ride

The three of us went to Parrot Jungle this past Sunday. It was a beautiful cool day in Miami and we took advantage of it. Little JJ was able to focus on some of the birds, but Jesse and I were the ones having fun watching the shows and enjoying nature.

The Hippo Ride, 165 feet of...fun? "You wanna ride it babe? uhhh, no thanks, you go ahead.."

And the latest, I scrap lifted it from one of my sis-in-law layouts. She is so creative.

I just booked my yearly trip to Peru. But this time I won't go alone, little JJ is coming with me! His first trip out of the country. I am a little nervous about traveling with a 9 month old (by the time we travel). We'll see. I will prepare myself as best as I can and go with the flow. I purposely booked a night flight so the my baby can hopefully sleep through it. The flight is in January, I have plenty of time to prepare.
Ahh, I'm looking forward to visiting my family and for them to meet JJ. And of course eating home cooked meals!
I think JJ will enjoy it!

Haven't posted anything in a while. The last two weeks I have been scrappin' and taking care of my sweet little J. He is now eating homemade mashed carrots, oatmeal and banana cereal and drinking little bits of water from a sippy cup! He is so adorable.

I spent yesterday with my sister and brother celebrating his birthday and today we visited family all day. It was nice.

Specially because Jesse is working a lot these last two months of the year and we only have Sundays to be together. He is such a hard worker. We are very proud of J-Money!

Last night we went out with my brother and sister in law and we took the babies along!
Seth is one month old and J.J. is five. It was fun. Little Seth slept the entire time and J.J. was a little shy at the beginning but after dinner we was happy being held by his Aunt and Uncle.
Today, Jesse and I want to try a new Peruvian Restaurant I heard from my brother is really good! We'll see....

A day at the Park

We decided to go to a park today, it was a beautiful day and there was a little bit of a breeze which helps with the Miami heat. We went to Key Biscayne and I got to practice what I have learned so far in my photography class. We took lots of pics, this is my favorite one. I love my boys!

Little J.J. got his vaccinations today and he actually reacted much better than last time. Thank God!

My sweet little boy is now sleeping. Tomorrow we are going to shop for an outfit for a wedding we have on Saturday. My dear friend Michelle is getting married!

It has rained all day, I think I'll go make me a cup of peruvian cinnamon tea. Yummy!

Tomorrow, my little boy is getting his 4 month-vaccinations. This time I'm giving him some Tylenol before we get there. It will hurt me more that it will hurt him.
My online photography class is going great. I just don't have a lot of time to practice what I'm learning. Thankfully all the documents from the class are available to us forever.Yay!
